Metal Braces
Metal braces which are made from high grade stainless steel are the most common braces. The wire is attached to the braces with rubber ties that come in a huge variety of fun colours. Today’s metal braces are smaller, more comfortable and more attractive.
Ceramic Braces
Ceramic braces are made of translucent (clear) material. They are most popular with adult patients, due to their cosmetic appeal.
Self-ligating braces using the Damon System
The Damon system of self-ligating brace is used at our practice. These braces don’t need the elastics or metal-tie wires required for traditional braces to hold the arch wires in place.
Invisalign®
The Invisalign System is a series of clear overlay templates – called aligners – that are generated by computer simulation to gradually move the teeth. This system is available to adult and teenage patients with certain orthodontic bite problems. Please contact our office to see if you are a suitable candidate for the Invisalign system.
Retention
When braces are removed, we use retainers to maintain your orthodontic correction and help keep your teeth straight. This retention phase lasts for a minimum of 24 months. The final orthodontic result depends on daily use of the retainers.
